Barbie in A Mermaid Tale is a family or fantasy movie released in 2010. This movie started when a popular teenage Barbie, Merliah Summers, found shocking news. She was a teenage surfing champion from Malibu. Did she a mermaid?
At that time, she participated in a surfing competition. She lost concentration and fell. But she could breathe underwater and talk to a pink dolphin, named Zuma. She was shocked and speechless. After learning the reality, she found out that she was a princess and a mermaid. Later on, she decided to rescue her mother from the evil Eris.
1. Merliah Summers
She was the main character in this movie. Kelly Sheridan voiced Merliah in both movies. In the human world, she was popular because of her ability in surfing and her beauty. Before reality struck on her, she was fine, popular, and happy.
2. Queen Calissa
She was Merliah’s mother and a Queen of Oceana. Nicole Oliver voiced her. She loved Merliah so much but she realized that life underwater was so cruel and unsafe for Merliah.
When Merliah was born with legs, Eris deposed her (because Eris hated legs). She was a charismatic, strong, and brave mermaid. She ruled her kingdom with love.
3. Eris
The evil of this movie and Queen Calissa’s younger sister. Kathleen Barr voiced her perfectly. In both movies, she was the main antagonist. She always felt jealous of Calissa and wanted to rule the kingdom over her hands.
She loved power and attention. Every time she found out that there was someone who did not listen to her, she would be very angry and throw them into a magical orange whirlpool.
