Cats is a musical fantasy movie for families that was aired in 2019. Little may know that Cats the movie is based on the Tony Award-winning stage musical in 1981 by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Although Cats the movie gets lots of critics the experts praise how the voice of Swift softens the movie with her beautiful song “Beautiful Ghosts.”

The story begins with a young white cat, named Victoria, that is thrown out in the streets of London at night. She is scared but later someone keeps her safe under her/ his wings. By that time, Victoria is able to change her life, from the unwanted cat to the most beautiful and popular one. There are popular names in the cast, such as Francesca Hayward (Victoria the White Cat), Judi Dench (Old Deuteronomy), Idris Elba (Macavity the Mystery Cat), Jennifer Hudson (Grizabella the Glamour Cat), Laurie Davidson (Mr. Mistoffelees), and other wonderful casts. Before those casts were completed, there were some rumors that Anne Hathaway would go further for the character of Victoria the White Cat but she had a scheduling conflict. The same went for Hugh Jackman. Tom Hooper asked him to join this movie but Hugh Jackman turned it down.
3. The Development of Cats
This movie runs a long way before the release date. It started in the 1990s when the first animated film adaptation of Cats appeared and was then abandoned by the studio. In 2013, the creator and composer of Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber, teased Universal Pictures to reactivate this movie. In 2016, Tom Hooper was reported to direct this movie.
