Do you wanna build a snowman? A popular sentence from the popular movie: Frozen. If your children adore the characters there, why don’t you take one to teach them how to color? This time: Olaf the Snowman.
Whether you want to draw them by yourself or just search for the free printable sheets online, everything is fine. In this article, we will give you some simple techniques to draw and color a snowman for your little artist at home.
To create a simple 3D snowman in just a few minutes, all supplies you need are light blue construction paper and oil pastels. This is how we get started.
1. Take the blue oil pastel
Draw three half-circles vertically (similar to the number 3 symbol but with an additional half-circle). Draw two of them facing the other direction. It will look like the number 8 symbol but with an additional circle. Your 3D snowman has been built!
2. Take the black, brown, and orange oil pastels
Time to add eyes and mouth. Start with drawing little charcoal squares or dots. Followed by the brown oil pastels to draw the twiggy arms at both sides of your snowman. Furthermore, orange oil pastel is used to draw a triangle at the center of its face, which is becoming a nose.
3. Take the blue oil pastel
The finishing task is by drawing your snowman’s shadows. Start by drawing lightly from the snowman to the page’s edge. The shadows are done. But you can still create a little dramatic scene by drawing the background using the white oil pastel, such as the snowflakes, stars, or the grayish sky.
