Yoda is a fictional character in the world of Star Wars films. He appears in all episodes of the Star Wars films except for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Frank Oz provides the voice for fictional characters in these films. He also moves the puppet Yoda in this fictional character’s appearance in Star Wars Episodes IV, V and VI, and The Phantom Menace.
Yoda was a legendary Jedi Master and stronger than most in his connection with the Force. Small in size but wise and powerful, he trained Jedi for over 800 years, playing integral roles in the Clone Wars, the instruction of Luke Skywalker, and unlocking the path to immortality.

1. Yoda’s first name was never revealed because George Lucas wanted to keep him with one name to increase the mystery that surrounded him.
2. There is speculation that Yoda’s first name was Minch, but Minch is another Jedi name belonging to the same species as Yoda.
3. Yoda was born in 896 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) and died in 4 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin). This makes Yoda 900 years old.
